I would like to introduce you to Lexi, whose Mom received this painting from a friend. The story involves Cooper (DDoP 9/9/09) and is told by his Mom "When our exuberant 5-year-old Westie girl, Kacie, unexpectedly fell ill and died of liver failure (cause unknown), my husband (Max) and I were devastated. It literally felt as if all the sunshine had been sucked out of our lives. About six months later, one of the angels who lives on earth arrived on a commercial flight from the midwest, accompanied by a very special 5-month-old Westie boy named Cooper ('Coop'). Moved by our heartbreak, this special person (a breeder of Champion Westies), had decided to give us -- a couple she knew only online -- this very special gift. Today, at age three, Coop is our smart, sweet, funny, gentle boy who brings smiles to the faces of everyone lucky enough to meet him. In mid August, we are being tested as a Therapy Dog team and upon certification, we hope to bring cheer to seniors in assisted-living facilities and nursing homes, sick children and others. Coop and I are "paying it forward!" :-)"

Cherry DDoP 11/10/09
This Angel is Cherry. Her Mom told me "Cherry is a typical vocal Husky. She loved to sing with the fire sirens and would join in with Happy Birthday every time. Cherry would voice her opinion and tell you how she felt.Cherry was an Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (aka IMHA) survivor. Her immune system was killing off her red blood cells. Thanks to U of Penn Vet Hospital, they gave us 4 1/2 more years with her. She contracted bladder cancer (TTC), which she was able to battle for 4 months. We still miss her tremendously."
This painting is sold.

Spuds DDoP 11/9/09
This is Spuds. His Mom says "Spuds was discovered in a High Kill shelter in GA by a Dogster member who refused to let him be PTS. She got a bunch of us invovled with pulling him from the shelter and getting him a new home. I was only going to foster him, since it was so soon after we lost Cherry. Even before I went to SC to pick him up from his 1st foster home, I knew he would be here to stay.Spuds lives for belly rubs, and loves his squeaky toys. He is the sweetest dog you could ever meet. I am so glad he is ours!"

Rallyn DDoP 11/6/09
Meet Rallyn! Her Mom says "Rallyn (named after Jimmy Rollins of the Philles) was rescued from a kill shelter in NC. Her Daddy surprised her Mommy with this little furball as a Christmas present. Her Mommy said "She is the best present ever". Rallyn is Spuds' (Spuds is DDoP 11/9/09) niece and loves to use Spuds as a chew toy. She occasionally will rest, but would rather play all of the time!!!"This painting is sold.

Ash & Shasta DDoPs 11/3/09
Meet Ash and Shasta, whose portrait was commissioned as a gift from one friend to another. I'm told " Their family drove out to a Texas farm to 'look' at the puppies and came home with two of them - a puppy for each child. Tara DDoP 11/2/09
This is Tara. Her Mom says "Tara (Miniature American Eskimo) is the newest addition to our family and the eldest at 16 years. She came to us via the Eskie Railroad as she was in Florida when I chose to adopt her in March 2008. This southern girl didn't know what to think of snow when it was deeper than she was tall. She is my velcro dog, my shadow - I can't go anywhere without her following me."This painting is sold.

Patrick DDoP 10/30/09
Patrick was going to be our Halloween DDoP the minute I saw his photo! His mom says "His birthday was , Sept 21, and he turned 8. He is all Westie: very smart, inquisitive, and independent, but he is also sweet and friendly. He loves to play: He loves to de-stuff toys and will chase anything that moves. He loves to roll in the grass. Patrick has an enlarged heart. We like to think of it as a 'big heart' full of love and affection. He underwent a heart operation in Jan 2007 to improve heart valve function and blood flow because of a narrowed heart valve. The operation was partially successful; Patrick still has to take daily heart medication."This painting is sold.

Suki DDoP 10/29/09
This is Suki (sister of angel Henry from yesterday). Her mom says " Suki (PomeranianX) is our little guard dog; if there's someone in the yard or at the door, she lets us know. Despite being only 18 lbs and having 3 teeth, this senior girl thinks she's a big, bad pup. We call her our canine garbage disposal as she'll eat anything -- when she's begging for table scraps, a piece of lettuce will shut her up (temporarily). This painting is sold.
